  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Have a valid driver's license. To road test in Alberta must have a valid, Non-GDL Alberta license.

MELT Programs

By-the-Hour Training and Packages

Our truck driver training in Lethbridge and Taber is based upon proper driving techniques, inspection, rules of the road, and road hazards. Our instructors will guide you until you are ready for the road. Gateway Safety Services Ltd. offers by-the-hour training or training packages, including the following:

Class 3 - By-the-Hour Training

  • $120 per hour + GST, all training is hands-on in a truck or bus

  • Air Brake Course: $195

  • Class 1 and 2 require a driver’s medical test. Medical costs vary; use your doctor or ours.

  • Class 3 does not require a medical test.

  • Registry Fees:

    • Air brake written test: Approx. $20

    • Driver written test: Approx. $20

    • Road test permits: Approx. $200
